Rachael Wilson
Registered Dietitian - Auckland
BSc (Food, Nutrition & Health Science), PGDip Nutrition and Dietetics (UK), NZRD
I am a UK-trained dietitian with over 21 years of experience in paediatrics, feeding disorders, disordered eating, and eating disorders. Passionate about changing the narrative around food and body image, I work to create a world where all children, in all bodies, can thrive. My approach is rooted in the belief that food is more than just nutrients—it’s deeply connected to our emotions, culture, and overall well-being.
I specialise in intuitive and mindful eating, using a Health at Every Size™ (HAES) and trauma-informed approach. With extensive training in psychology and behaviour change techniques, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), I help children, families, and adults develop a positive and resilient relationship with food and their bodies.
My professional development includes training in body image, weight stigma, family-based treatment (FBT) for anorexia, and responsive feeding therapy. I am one of only seven worldwide selected as an affiliate child feeding specialist by the Ellyn Satter Institute. Additionally, I have expertise in neurodiversity-affirming feeding approaches, SOS feeding therapy, and mindfulness-based eating awareness training (MB-EAT).
